Zeolite synthesis and catalysis · Harris Laboratory collaborator
Dr. Young Gul Hur trained at the Purdue Catalysis Center and works on the synthesis and characterisation of zeolite catalysts. He led the study that expanded the crystallisation phase space for boron- and aluminium-containing Beta zeolites, published in Microporous and Mesoporous Materials in 2026 — the kind of careful synthesis work that makes a whole family of downstream catalytic studies possible.
He is a co-author on nearly all of my catalysis work: the glycerol etherification manuscript, the acetone co-feeding study, the ethanol upgrading paper in Applied Catalysis B, and the 2,3-butanediol mechanism work. I have learned a great deal from him about what a well-made material actually looks like, and I am grateful for it.

Working on something that overlaps?
If your research touches the same questions, I would like to hear about it — whether that is a joint paper, a shared sample set, or a conversation about where the work is going.
